How it works
The number die still picks a reference slot, but the element die derives a gate pattern from it. Agni opens the slot and its right neighbor, Jal opens the slot and its opposite, Vayu opens parity, and Prithvi opens only the struck slot but can lock it open for next turn.
Legend
Agni: open the struck slot and its right neighbor.
Jal: open the struck slot and its opposite.
Vayu: open every slot with the same parity.
Prithvi: open only the struck slot and lock it open next turn.
Blank: open only the struck slot.
Akasha: all occupied slots fire at half and all gates reset open.
