Rules — how this works
"The enemy shows you where and how it will strike — put a card there to turn its blow into your effect."
The two dice are the enemy's. Each turn's end it rolls both face-up, declaring next turn's strike. The number die (1–4, two blanks) names which of your four slots is hit; a blank means the blow skips your board and hits you for +4. The element die sets the blow's verb.

No matching, no clog. The card in the struck slot fires 100% of the time — that firing is your counter — and its Block absorbs the blow. Cards in unstruck slots wait.

Energy = 1 + empty slots, no carry-over. First placement free, then 1. Pull back 1. Paid draw 1⚡: 2 cards. Force the enemy to reroll its declaration for 2⚡ (then 4⚡) — a gamble; the new strike may be worse.
Element legend — what the blow's element DOES
AGNI — Ignition: the struck card and both neighbours fire (neighbours at half value); everything that fired burns away (exhaust).
JAL — Redirection: the struck card fires, then the blow hops to an occupied slot of your choice and fires that too, at full value.
VAYU — Displacement: every card slides one slot toward the impact, closing gaps; then the struck card fires and returns to your hand.
PRITHVI — Absorption: the struck card fires, stays in its slot, and wards that slot — the next strike there deals 0 damage (the card still fires).
AKASHA — Nullity (gated: appears on the element die when the enemy first drops to 30% HP): nothing is struck, every card returns to hand, and the declaration is cancelled — the enemy rerolls blind on the spot.
BLANK number: the blow bypasses your board and hits you for +4.
BLANK element: a plain blow, no verb.
